Appealing a Scholarship Status

大学申诉委员会在作出决定时将审查以下标准 regarding your scholarship appeal:

• 申请奖学金的一般资格要求和规定 to maintain scholarship
• 你所申请的特定奖学金的资金可用性
• 学生的学习成绩(包括但不限于入学前的成绩) 在USM就读期间的学术历史，以及其他必要的学术记录)
  学生的经济背景，通过免费申请联邦学生援助 (FAFSA).
• 有关和支持学生情有可原的情况的文件(包括， 但不限于，人身伤害或疾病，直系亲属死亡， 医学疾病，和/或高中辅导员/大学学术人员的支持信 advisor explaining extenuating circumstance)
• 由学生提供的信，解释学生的情况和为什么是例外 is being requested
• 大学奖学金上诉委员会将审查学生的FAFSA完成情况 提交的所有申诉的状态和预期家庭贡献(EFC).  It is highly recommended to have a FAFSA on file prior to appealing.

These are admission-based scholarships; therefore, students who are currently enrolled 无法获得新奖项或将奖项升级为更新的奖项.

Scholarships are audited and reported as financial transactions; therefore, extensions 如学生已获发全部拨款，会否获批.

Missing a deadline is not an extenuating circumstance; therefore, if a student misses 奖学金截止日期和上诉截止日期学生将无法申请 be considered for the award in question. 

Reminder: Students cannot 申请幸运日公民基金会奖学金和/或荣誉大学成就 Scholarships. 这些奖学金项目的获得者是通过竞争性的 审核外部部门的流程，以及竞争过程中做出的决定 review process are final.

对获得本科奖学金的学生的学习成绩进行监测 each fall and spring semester. Recipients must comply with various stipulations in order to continue receiving these funds. Stipulations include, but are not limited to:

• Enrollment in required credit hours
• USM Grade Point Average
• Number of semesters enrolled at USM
